All workshops happen Thursday nights at the studio, materials included, no experience assumed. Twelve seats per session unless noted. If a session is full, join the waitlist; seats free up about a week out when life happens.
The full pipeline in one night. Burn a master, run color one, flip the stack, run color two, leave with a ten-copy edition of your own design.
Fold, stitch, and sew. Bring a printed stack or bind our practice sheets. Dev teaches the coptic stitch he learned from a 1930s manual and refuses to modernize.
How to get a photo into two spot inks without it looking like a fax from 1994. Covers bitmap thresholds, gradient dots, and when to just let it bloom.
The studio is closed and June is feeding her family a truly unreasonable amount of stuffing. Back December 3.
No lesson, no fee. The drums run whatever the room votes on. First-timers welcome, this is the night we recruit most of our members.
Print a numbered edition of 25 as holiday gifts. Bring art sized 8.5 x 11, we help with separations, you leave with wrapped stacks.
We run swatch charts of every ink pair on the shelf, you keep the chart. Learn which combinations make a third color and which make mud.

teaches riso 101 · halftones
Explains everything twice: once to the class, once to the machine. Known for the sentence "the drum is not angry, it is just like that."
teaches binding
Thirteenth-generation bookbinder by obsession rather than blood. Coptic, saddle, long stitch, and the particular joy of a finished spine.
teaches ink lab
Runs the ink mixing lab and the two-color design nights where you pick inks first and content second, which is either backwards or exactly right.
Private sessions
Six to fifteen people, the whole studio to yourselves, one big shared edition. Companies book these when the trust-fall workshop gets dark. $55 a head, $330 minimum.
We run scaled-down sessions for school groups of up to twenty, on-site or with the small drum on the road. Cheap, loud, and the kids leave with twenty prints each. Ask for June.
Birthdays have happened. Weddings have happened. One wake, respectfully. Everyone prints, everyone leaves with a stack, nothing has to be a poster about it.
What to bring. Yourself and something to take prints home in. For laptop sessions, any computer with a browser works; we do separations on the studio machines if yours cannot.
Age and access. Sixteen and up for open enrollment. Under sixteen with a grown-up, which mostly means the grown-up ends up printing. The studio is ground floor with a 34" door; tell us what you need and we will sort it.
Groups. We run private sessions for teams, classes, and parties of six or more. Email with dates and we will open a night for you.
Cancellation. Full refund up to 72 hours before, credit after. No-shows fund the pretzel budget. If we cancel for weather or machine drama, you get the choice of credit or refund, no questions.
Waitlists. Seats open up constantly. Waitlisted folks get first email when they do, which is how about a third of seats fill.
The series pass. Any three fall workshops for the price of two. Ask for it when you register and we will invoice it together.
